The Schliemann Center for Women's Health is part of Baxter Health's effort to provide superior health care for women at all stages of their lives. Classes offered at the center focus on such topics as babysitting, breastfeeding, childbirth, menopause, nutrition and wellness. In addition we offer support groups for Heart Health and The Spectrum Connection that focuses on Autism, ADHD, ADD and Dyslexia. Heart Health programs for Women include; Line Dancing, Cardio Kickboxing, Heart Healthy Dance, and Exercise. The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Baxter/Izard Counties Program awards scholarships in the amount of $200-$500 to low income single parents who reside in Baxter and Izard Counties so that they may pursue the goal of higher education or technical training. Funds may be used for tuition, texts, transportation costs, child care, and utilities. Eligibility requirements: Be a resident of Baxter/Izard Counties Be a high school graduate or equivalent be a single parent of a child under age 18 Applications are available on-line through the website. Clothes closet opens between 10-1 M-F. St. Vincent supplies food, help with electric bills, rent, etc. on Tue. and Thursday 10-12. Food pantry same hours as St. Vincent. The Family Ministry runs a clothing resale shop for those in the community. Funds raised are used to help with utilities and rental assistance for those in need in our community. Hours of the resale shop are 9-11 Monday through Friday. Clothing is given at no cost for those in need.
